Choices-Good or Bad

Life is all about choices and making choice. At every step of life, we are faced with choices   and our choice affects our lives  for a long time  and sometimes they have a irreversible effect on our life. I  have always wondered whether having choice is good or bad and till date I am in mess.
Deciding between vanilla or butterscotch, blue or purple dress, Appu ghar or essel world, Goa or Kerala  is fun and the list is long. But imagine when choices are to be made between being a doctor or engineer, deciding between Riya or Shweta(who is a better friend), First Love or best friend(who will be a better life partner) are question that you wish it was better you had no choices. I am sure you must have faced these  at some point of time in your life.

But the challenge is not easy. Sometimes  when things  don't turn out the way you had wanted them to, and in one or other the case it does  in the choice of your college, career, best friend or partner: and you are to break your head wondering what would have happened had you made the other choice. Remember the poem in your English book during your school days, "The road not taken".
You would completely agree with me that its an awful experience. For all the wrong  things  that happen around , you blame yourself or your family's wrong choice  and imagine that life would have been magically better, had you made the other choice. This thoughts haunt you now and then.
But let me tell you a secret. You never had a choice guys. When you got what you wanted; the Almighty  knew it was good for you and when you did not, He knew it was not the right choice for you. And if you ask that in the first place why did He make you think  of a wrong choice;  the answer is that He wanted to teach you a bitter lesson of life and remember the lessons of life are taught  practically.

Double Standards - A story of forbidden love

Love is never easy. It asks for a lot of courage, sacrifice and perseverance. But there is something more intense and passionate about the so called forbidden love stories. When I started thinking about the reason behind this I realised there was a simple logic. Remember when we were kids, we enjoyed eating ice-cream especially when we had a bad cough or fever only because we were forbidden from having it; or remember the time when we quietly switched on the TV during our exam days when our parents were out for work and the happiness knew no bounds, So you know why the forbidden is always more special

And so is this book. It is the first of Judith Mcnaught novels and a perfect one to start with. I read this book long time back but its effect is still fresh and clear in my mind. The Book is about Nick Sinclair,  a rich business man. He is smart and handsome but at the same time very rude and mean especially towards women.Due to his painful childhood experience.  And on the other hand is Lauren, beautiful and charming who has joined Nick's company with a hidden motive.

The two of them try hard to stay away but then fall for each other. Though impressing a strong-headed girl Lauren is not easy but Nick tries hard and wins her heart. But as always love is not easy guys.It has to face several tests. Its difficult for Lauren to decide whether to listen to her heart or mind.  What is her next step And  does Nick understand her and realise that Lauren is the love of his Life :does their forbidden love succeeds and how ; you should read find out.

I found the book too amazing, could not keep it down once started. The characters have been perfectly drawn out and described. I could imagine them as real. The emotions expressed reach out to the reader heart and the dialogues are too good.I should not say more as I think I have said enough to convince you to read it. Try it.

The change in Relationship status

I am sure you must be thinking of love, alliance, marriage and not being single. No, what I wish to share is the side affects of these. Many movies and serials have already been made and lot of gyaann been given: so you must be wondering what's new with me that  I wish to share. Did you notice all the change that comes about in the relation of parents and their child. Specifically it is shown that children stop taking care of their parents, they are forced to move to old age homes or cry their lives out.

But thats not what I wish to share. What I want discuss is the change that comes about in the relationship of siblings after marriage. Two small kids who used to share their chocolate, ice-cream and cycle(1 turn for each) suddenly or gradually become not so important for each other. They now love to share things with their partner; of course thats important  but in attempt of adjusting to new people and new relationship are you leaving so many people and relationships behind.

The problem is common with guys and girls both. The girls just go mad after getting engaged or after they get into a relationship. His calls, his likes his habits and his family become hers. Of course he and his family should be given prime importance but that does not mean your family, your siblings should be left far behind. One of my friends after getting engaged started behaving in a weird manner. She waited all day for his call and after his office hours did not attend to any call other than his. On the marriage day, she literally shouted at her younger brother for not getting a lime-soda and instead a cold-drink for her newly wedded husband and the small boy almost turned to tears.

The things started there. After few months on one of her trips to her parents place she again behaved very rudely with her cousin sister only because she missed  buying her husband's favourite flavour of ice cream. Furthermore her younger brother requested for a family trip and asked her to stay, but she rejected the plan straight away saying that it would be difficult for her husband to manage things without her. Next weekend she called me up and said her husband was out with his friends and she was getting bored, so she had called me. Thanks to her.

Lets see the guys side. In many cases the same happens to them. Their families(wife & children) are the  only ones that are  important. Their parents, their siblings almost hold no value. They don't have time for anyone else.Their wives decide  not only their dinner menu but also their clothes and their vacations. Furthermore money comes in.The gifts exchanged between their siblings are first checked for their price tags. The give and take should be equal. Hence  it is not a surprise that many of these sibling relationship that started with sharing one ice-cream end up in court rooms.

Wake up guys.  Your alliance is addition. That does not mean you would subtract the old relationships. In a hurry to give importance to your new family don't forget the old one. They are the ones with whom you spent almost 28-30 years of your life: those parents  who waited for you every evening with a cup of hot tea/coffee or your younger brother or sister who waited for you to return so that you help him/her with project or solve a latest issue between him and his girlfriend or vice-versa.

Every relation is precious. Preserve it.

The Glass Half-filled

The glass Half-filled

From childhood to being an adult we are taught -success and failure are a part of life. Its important  that we  give our hundred % to everything we do. Participation is important. Result does not matter. But it is not completely true. The expressions on your face  and your loved ones tell  a different story.

So the theory given does not always work guys. When we give our 100% of course we expect a good result. Many a times we attempt  an exam just for the sake of attempting it without any preparation telling ourselves we are doing this only to have a feel of the exam, or face an interview only to have a feel of it. Many of you must have done so, but I am sure you  must have checked the list of successful candidates and the appearance or the non-appearance of your name on the list must have governed your mood for few hours  if not for few days.

The thought of victory is so sweet and failure so bitter that you cant just ignore it. But what if you loose  a game: you don't actually loose is what I think. You are still a winner even if you attempt for second game or try a different game. Failure is bitter and swallowing a bitter  tablet is not easy. So everyone who lost any game  or failed an exam, I am sure each one of you must have at some point of life, is a winner because you could swallow the failure and move on.

So pat your back guys for all of us are winners. Just look at the glass of water on your table. It is Half-filled guys not half empty.

Change-The only stagnant thing

Many close friends or even your partner must have said these famous lines-Don't ever change, remain the way you are- always. But you changed, everyone does. For good or for bad, its difficult to say, but we change every day, every minute. Every person that comes in our life affects us , changes us. It is this change that prepares us for tomorrow. It is an ongoing process. Sometimes we don't even realise it.

Change is often percieved as something negative. All of us want to remain the way we are.  But thats not true guys. Just as you grow in age, similarly you grow emotionally and morally: so ofcourse we change. When you were kid your life involved your family.Your eating habits, likes dislikes were completely derermined by them: you relished the not-so-tasty healthy food and said No to chocolates. When you grew up, friends made  an important part in your life,  chocolates, burgers or ice-cream became an essential element. The adventurous rides that were banned for you during your childhood suddenly  become your favourite timepass. Further more you start looking for someone special.Once you find that person he or she becomes the most important part of life. His /her likings become yours. So thats how it is. You did not realise but you changed.

Change is such a process, it happens so gradually, so slowly, that we don't even realise it. Remember that Chales Darwin theory -survival of the fittest. It is this change that helps us to adapt to our changing environment. The change of environment from home to school and then to college. So guys change is'nt a negative thing always, to a certain extent. Look at the mirror and you see a different person, then close your eyes and look through your heart and soul, if you are still the same, you have won the battle. There may be few scratches, few thrashes that highs and lows of life gifted you . But you are still YOU
