Incredible Gujarat !!!

When I thought of writing this review I did not know what category to put it in.Religious, adventure or fun and and an experience of a lifetime , Gujarat has it all. Thanks to the Incredible India ad on television, which told me what all Gujarat had in store. I planned the trip in February this year with my family. It was a week long trip. After booking the flight tickets, I made the route plan considering the distance and travel time.That was one mistake I did because gradually I realized I should have taken 10 day in hand.It is a big state and a lot of travel time is involved when moving from one place to other.

We took an evening flight from Delhi to Ahemdabad that is about 1 hour duration. We had booked a taxi for the entire trip from a local company in Ahemdabad. The taxi picked us from the Airport and dropped us at the hotel. We checked in at the hotel, relaxed for a while and then had dinner. After that we asked for a few details about the distance and destination and then returned to the room

Next day we went to Little Rann of Kutch .The Little Rann of kutch is a smaller version of Great Rann of Kutch which is famous for its white sand. The white sand is so called because of the vast stretches of salt which are found in the area.I chose this because it is quite near to Ahemdabad (2 hours) as compared to the Great Rann of kutch (6 hours) journey. We started at 11AM and reached by 1PM. We checked in at our resort which was a beautiful resort amidst forest like area .There were huts built in Gujarati style which had been designed to give rural touch .We had lunch, rested for a while and then moved to the reception area .We then went to watch to the huge salt collections.The temperature was high and we were in an open jeep.

We were taken to see wild as* duck and swans.When we returned it was already late.

Next day we checked out at noon and left for Dwarka. It was a 7 to 8 hrs journey.We arrived directly at the temple .The path to the main temple is through a busy market. The vehicles are the to be parked at some distance away.We then went to the temple. It was amazing. A glimpse of Lord Dwarkadhish and all the tiredness vanished. Its a big temple. The Jhanki is opened and closed every 30 mins for Darshan. After taking a complete round at the temple we checked at our hotel.

The next day we left for Somnath 4-5 hours from Dwarka. We first headed for the temple. The vehicles are to be parked almost a km away. The temple has huge campus. The Somnath temple is considered as the first Jyotirling. The site was breath taking. It was a beautiful and I don't have enough words to describe the experience. We then checked in the hotel as it was already late. If you have time check out the market around.

Next day we moved to Diu 1 hr 30 mins journey. We stayed at a resort across the beach .The sea was quite and the beach was lonely, but the evening was fun .There are various water sorts jet ski para-sailing, paragliding banana boat etc .Try some of these and have fun. Next day we left for Ahemdabad. It was a long and tiring journey of 8 hrs .We took rest at the hotel and returned to Delhi the next day.

A week long trip had come to an end so soon.

We carried awesome memories in our mind. Definitely plan a trip guys but be careful we missed out on an adventure experience of visiting a wild life sanctuary in Gujarat name Sasanghir. Also few tips in mind, the travel is long and lunch is available only between 12PM to 3 PM.
